Introductory $39 “Get Onboard” Fare Allows Customers Opportunity To Sample “The SeaPort Experience”
(January 21, 2013) – SeaPort Airlines today announced that it has published a schedule and fares for new service between El Centro/Imperial, CA (Imperial County Airport) and San Diego, CA (San Diego International Airport) beginning March 1, 2013. The carrier was recently awarded the Essential Air Service contract to provide service at Imperial County Airport by the United States Department of Transportation.
The new service will include five nonstop roundtrips per day Monday through Friday, two nonstop roundtrips on Saturday, and two nonstop roundtrips Sunday. SeaPort’s schedule represents a 150% increase in choice of departure times over the current service and introduces San Diego International Airport as the Imperial Valley’s new gateway to the national transportation system. As illustrated below, the flight schedule has been constructed to provide service throughout the day and minimize the duration of connections at San Diego.
SeaPort Airlines flights will operate from the commuter terminal at San Diego International Airport, with a free shuttle bus operating every 10-15 minutes for connections to and from flights operating at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. A total of 17 airlines at San Diego offer connecting choices to approximately 50 nonstop destinations on an average of 250 daily departures, including recently inaugurated nonstop service to Tokyo.
To introduce itself the community, SeaPort Airlines is offering a $39 “Get Onboard” introductory fare of $39 each way. The fare is available for purchase now through March 31, 2013 on every seat and every flight between El Centro/Imperial and San Diego through June 30, 2013. The listed fare includes all taxes and fees, and is non-refundable and non-changeable once purchased. For passengers requiring the flexibility to change their travel plans, the carrier offers other fares ranging from $49 to $109 each way, including all taxes and fees, and subject to advance purchase requirements and availability. Passengers may book reservations now on www.SeaPortAirlines.com or by calling 888-573-2767. Schedules and fares will be available in all major GDSs and online travel agencies, such as Travelocity and Expedia, by January 23, 2013.
“We’re very pleased to be adding Imperial County Airport and San Diego International to our growing route map,” said Rob McKinney, President of SeaPort Airlines. “We expect that customers in both communities will embrace the high frequency and customer friendly service that has been a pillar of the ‘SeaPort Experience’ since our very first flight.”
