SeaPort Airlines Announces Service to Athens, GA

Carrier will offer introductory fare of $39 one-way to Nashville and special November 10 football flight

(October 16, 2011) – SeaPort Airlines today announced that it will launch new service between Athens, Georgia (Athens-Ben Epps Airport) and Nashville, Tennessee (Nashville International Airport) beginning November 1, 2012. The carrier was recently awarded the Essential Air Service contract to provide service to Athens-Ben Epps Airport.

The new service will include two daily nonstop roundtrip flights between Athens and Nashville Monday through Friday, one nonstop roundtrip flight on Saturday, and one nonstop roundtrip flight on Sunday.  As illustrated below, the flight schedule will allow travelers from Athens to complete a full day of business in Nashville and return home the same evening, eliminating the expense of a hotel overnight and time away from family and the office.  Nashville travelers will be afforded the same opportunity to conduct same-day trips to Athens.

Auburn University football game.  SeaPort has offered similar flights at other towns and the reception has been strong, particularly when passengers compare the cost of gas and parking, as well as the hassle of driving to and from the game. All seats for this special flight will be available for $139 each way.  Seats are limited for this special flight, so Dawg fans will want to book quickly at www.SeaPortAirlines.com.

“We’re pleased to add Athens to our growing route system in the Mid-South,” said Rob McKinney, President of SeaPort Airlines. “We think travelers will find that connections in Nashville are tremendously convenient compared to the hassle of connecting at, or driving to, Atlanta.”

“We are pleased that the DOT has chosen SeaPort Airlines to provide service to Athens,” said Tim Beggerly, Athens Airport Manager.  “SeaPort Airlines has built their reputation on great customer service and convenient connections. Whether it’s for a weekend at the music city or making a connecting flight to over 150 cities nationwide, we invite everyone to give them a try on your next trip.”

Customers traveling to and from Athens will enjoy SeaPort’s reliable and customer-friendly service.  To celebrate the new service, SeaPort will be launching contests via select social media channels with chances to win free round trip tickets.
