SeaPort Airlines, the Salina Area Chamber and community partners to host food drive
(October 31st, 2011) – SeaPort Airlines announced today that they will host a canned food drive with Salina community partners from November 1st-Novemeber 18th, 2011. All non-perishable food items that are collected will go to the Salina Emergency Aid/Food Bank in Salina, KS for distribution.
“This time of year is not unlike any other time of year—people need food. We’re seeing between 145-150 households a week,” said Kathleen Jackson, Administrator–Salina Emergency Aid/Food Bank. “The food collected during this food drive will go to help those in need both during and after the holidays and throughout the year. We appreciate the support of those who are willing to get involved.”
To sweeten the deal, SeaPort Airlines has pledged to give every individual that drops off at least (4) four non-perishable food items one $25.00 SeaPort Travel Voucher. Food must be dropped off at one of the listed co-sponsor drop-off locations during regular business hours:
- SeaPort Airlines Ticket Counter at the Salina Municipal Airport
- Salina Area Chamber of Commerce
- The Salina Journal
- Kansas Wesleyan University
- Brown Mackie College
- Kansas National Guard
- Salina Public Library
- The New Zoo 92.7 FM
- Eagle Media Center
- Sign House
- Chiropractic Wellness Center
The Salina Media Group will also be helping the food drive effort by broadcasting Public Service Announcements, although they’re not a drop-off location.

Everyone in Salina and surrounding communities are invited to participate! At each location, a designated employee will be available to collect food items and distribute vouchers. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent to receive a $25.00 SeaPort Travel Voucher. Vouchers are good for travel from December 1st, 2011 to January 31st, 2012; blackout dates apply December 22nd-25th.

Food Drive & Travel Voucher Rules and Restrictions
Non-perishable food drop-offs must be made at a designated location during their regular business hours. Each individual must bring in at least four (4) non-perishable food items to receive a $25.00 SeaPort Travel Voucher. One SeaPort Travel Voucher will be issued to each individual system wide (one Travel Voucher per person) at a designated drop-off site during the time of drop-off. No household limit.
Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent; vouchers will be issued with the child’s name, but in the care of the adult present during the time of drop-off.
SeaPort Travel Vouchers will be good for use from December 1st, 2011 to January 31st, 2012, and are not combinable with each other or any other SeaPort offer. Vouchers are good for one use only, and are not redeemable for cash. No cash back for unused portions. The customer utilizing the voucher must match the name listed on the voucher, and must be presented at the time of check-in. Blackout dates apply for travel on and between December 22nd, 2011 – December 27th, 2011.
All donated items will go to the Salina Emergency Aid/Food Bank. ###
