(October 4, 2011) – SeaPort Airlines today announced record passenger traffic during the month of September 2011 in each of the four Arkansas communities served. Traffic in SeaPort’s Arkansas markets increased 90% total year-over-year, ranging from 42% at El Dorado to 153% at Hot Springs. Traffic was up 11.8% system-wide in SeaPort’s lower 48 markets.
“We continue to be please with community response to SeaPort’s unique brand of service in each of the Arkansas communities and look forward to building on this success,” said Rob McKinney, President of SeaPort Airlines.
SeaPort recently announced an “Oktoberfares” fare sale in select markets. Through October 9th, passengers can purchase tickets for flights starting at $19* for travel through November 15th. Rules and restrictions apply.
When SeaPort initiated service at Harrison, El Dorado, Hot Springs, and Jonesboro in October 2009, the communities had been without scheduled air service since 2007. All four markets are served under the Essential Air Service program; however, continued growth has resulted in the addition of “speculative” flights above and beyond these EAS contracts in some of the Arkansas communities.
