(June 25, 2012) –SeaPort Airlines today announced that it has changed the fare structure at McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport to a low flat rate of $35. The $35 fare can be purchased immediately and is available on every seat on every flight from Jackson to Memphis and Nashville.
“Since beginning service at Jackson in January, we’re proud to say that traffic has increased over 100% compared to the last few months of operation with the previous carrier,” said Rob McKinney – President of SeaPort Airlines. “There’s still more work to be done, however, and with the new fare we’re hoping more travelers will come out to experience the convenience of McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport and the great service on SeaPort Airlines.”
At $35 one-way or $70 roundtrip, the new fare offers compelling savings for travelers. For example, a three-day business trip that includes driving to Nashville International Airport for a flight costs approximately $177. This includes mileage and parking at Nashville International Airport. With the new fare, this same business trip would cost approximately $100 less by flying to Nashville from McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport. The savings are even greater when lost productivity while driving is factored, to say nothing the frustration of traffic on Interstate 40.
Each weekday, SeaPort Airlines offers two departures to Nashville and one to Memphis. On both Saturday and Sunday, one flight is offered to each destination. At both Nashville and Memphis, connections with other airlines provide Jackson area businesses and residents with the convenience of one-stop travel to major markets across the U.S. Nashville International Airport is dominated by low-fare carrier Southwest Airlines and the best value for connecting flight options are typically found at that airport.
Fares are subject to change.
